As good late night read (link below), the history behind GM’s proposal to build a V10 motor is quite interesting. It faced competition with Ford and Dodge’s V10 behemoths. It could have been quite an alternative to the 8.1 V8 and duramax diesels, but it never made it to mass production.

That’s awesome. They could also make a V12 (and they do have a V6 LS in production now)
They could also make a V10 out of two Atlas I5's!

I know operating speed and smoothness are not hallmarks of the LS, but I cannot support more odd-fire V10s. Heck, even the split crankpins on the Triton are a second-best solution.
